FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 12/11/17
Last week there were 49 rods caught 104 fish for an average of 2.12.
There has been an improvement in sport on Cocks Close with most anglers catching a few fish over the weekend. The colder conditions are making shoals disperse and fish are move willing to chase Lures now.
The biggest fish of the week was a 5lb rainbow caught by Dave Bratby of Birmingham who regularly fishes the bank of Cocks Close. Dave used small Buzzers to tempt this and four other fish and he used a floating line. John Salisbury of Warwick won the Packington Fly Fishers bank match with a limit of five fish caught on Damsel Nymphs fished on an Intermediate line.
Rod Lacey of Nuneaton tried his luck on the Park Meadow pool this week and caught ten fish which were all safely returned and they came to his favoured Diawl Bach pattern fished on a floating line.
The best areas have been the high bank and the old boat jetty on Cocks Close and the deeper water in the middle of Park Meadow.
Cats Whisker, black Tadpole, Ace of Spades, white Fritz, Damsel Nymph and black Buzzer have all accounted for a few fish this weekend.
