FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 22/10/17
Last week there were 31 rods caught 49 fish for an average of 1.58.
The fishing is still very difficult at the moment with the fish shoaling around the aerator and the old boat jetty area. The best tactic has been to fish a team of Buzzers and a floating line and fish them quite quickly through the shoal and this has accounted for the better catches.
Fishery regular Dave Bratby caught seven from then bank of Cocks Close and he took them on a black Buzzer. John Riley of Atherstone caught the largest of the week, a 5lb rainbow while fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and this was the best of a five fish catch taken on a Klinkhammer dry fly.
On Park Meadow, Richard Lindsey of Stafford caught four rainbows and one brown on an olive Leech fished on a floating line.
The Fishery has been very quiet with the very windy conditions putting off a lot of anglers.
