Last week 41 rods caught 189 fish for an average of 4.60 fish per rod

Another good week with plenty of fish being caught from all around the pool at Cocks Close with boat and bank anglers enjoying decent sport. There has been plenty of quality fish caught in the 3 – 7lb bracket.

The largest fish of the week was an estimated 8lb rainbow caught by Mr M Francis of Redditch who was fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and tempted it with a Cats Whisker fished on an intermediate line. Rod Lacey of Nuneaton also had an estimated 8lb rainbow from Cocks Close on a Diawl Bach. Mr M Lloyd of Ravenstone had a 7lb rainbow in a five fish catch and these all came to a white Snake Lure. Ian Reeve of Rugby took a 6lb 4oz rainbow in an eight fish catch whilst fishing from a boat on Cocks Close and these all came to a Cats Whisker fished deep. Steve Gowan of Knowle fished from the bank of Cocks Close and took five including a 5lb 2oz rainbow then released a further six fish and these came to a mixture of Buzzers and Blobs.

The best areas have been the lodge corner, the road bank and the old boat jetty corner on Cocks Close.

Pulling Lures has been the top tactic with Cats Whisker, white Fritz, black Tadpole, big Damsels and Minkies the favourites at the moment. There are also fish to be caught on Nymphs and Diawl Bach or black Buzzer the top flies for those who prefer the most imitative style of fishing.
