The Day Ticket Water Cocks Close re-opened on Saturday and although the expected bonanza failed to happen there were still some decent catches made.

Ian Reeve and Richard Reeve, father and son from Rugby fished on Cocks Close and caught 13 between them including a rainbow of 4lb 4oz and a brown of 4lb and these all came to a variety of flies including Hoppers, Cats Whiskers and Diawl Bach mainly fished on floating lines. Mr C Aubrey of Rugby caught the largest fish over the weekend which was an 8lb 6oz rainbow in his five fish catch and they all came to Cats Whiskers. Fishery stalwart Harold Pritchett of Atherstone caught eight fish to 3lb+ from a boat on Cocks Close and these all came to Cruncher patterns fished on an intermediate line.

The Park meadow pool remained open throughout the summers and has been in good form for the past few weeks. Last week, John Riley of Atherstone fished from boat on there and caught five fish to 4lb on dry Sedges.
