We don’t even know the weight of this specimen perch from the River Thames, but does it matter at all when a fish is this perfect?
Dan tempted the predator on a new soft bait he’s been trying, and takes up the story…
“The Slim Shaddy is a very subtle little shad bait that is so soft the perch just can’t resist to have a nip. They fold up easier than any other shad I’ve held meaning the fish are absolutely nailed in the roof of the mouth.
If you have perch that are munching on gudgeon then the colour “Wurm” is the one! Especially in bright conditions which some guys seem to really hate!
I pinned it down with one of my very own 5g Tungsten Jig Heads. In fact the only thing in my whole set up that wasn’t from under the 97T roof was the fluoro leader!
This fish was 47cm / 4lb 8oz and absolutely full as a boot, add some big shoulders and it was the most impressively proportioned perch I have ever held.
One more mission completed!”
