Trout & Salmon celebrates 60th anniversary with a letter of congratulations from HRH The Prince of Wales
Britain’s oldest game fishing magazine also launches campaign to save brItain’s wild salmon stocks
Trout & Salmon magazine reaches a significant milestone today as it celebrates 60 years as the voice of game fishing. HRH The Prince of Wales, Patron of the Salmon & Trout Association, introduces the July issue with a letter of congratulations.
As well as reflecting on six decades of fantastic sport, the magazine is also using the anniversary to shine a light on the plight of salmon stocks in the UK, severely depleted in recent years, in part as a result of man-made threats.
Trout & Salmon is inviting the public to back one of eight significant proposals to help return these fish to abundance by voting at www.saveoursalmon.org.
Andrew Flitcroft, Editor of Trout & Salmon, says: “It is a great privilege to edit the 60th Anniversary issue of this iconic magazine and I am indebted to His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales for his generous letter of congratulation.
Since its launch in 1955, Trout & Salmon has championed all that is special about this wonderful sport and has fought to safeguard its future. As custodians of Britain’s wild fish, it is our duty to protect them and help reverse the decline in wild salmon stocks. Save Our Salmon is a great opportunity to back a campaign that will make a difference”
