The Maver Pairs competition run through Angling Times is the latest victim of the recession.

Entries were said to be 50% down on 2010 with fuel costs in particular taking their toll on the match fishing scene at the moment. The British Pole Championships which ran after the Maver Pairs will continue as normal on Sunday August 14th.
