Graham Welton takes top spot in the RiverFest qualifier – River Nene at Orton Up and Down

47 competitors took part in this latest RiverFest qualifier on the River Nene at Orton Up and Down on Sunday 28th August 2016.

The venue fished harder than recently with some cold water in overnight but some weights were had and the qualifiers were all local anglers.

Overall winner; Graham Welton RAF – Peg 50 18lb 10z, mixed bag including a bream and skimmer, hybrids, perch, using chop worm and casters.

2nd Dave Beecroft on Orton Down end peg 60 with 17lb 5oz, again a mixed bag.
3rd Dave Jones 13lb 1oz peg 59.
4th Jon Means, Qualified Zone B from peg 15 with 12lb 14oz.
5th Peter Jayes, peg 57 12lb 8oz.
6th Scott Plant, peg 46 11lb 11oz.

Qualifiers for the RiverFest grand final in November on the River Wye are;
Zone A Orton Up pegs 1-20 Jon Means.
Zone B Orton Up pegs 21-40 Stuart Northrop.
Zone C Orton Down pegs 41-60 Graham Welton.
