Lightmoor Pool (35 pegs)
Saturday 17th April 2010
Lightmoor Pool near Cinderford has been fishing well lately with several big catches being taken. However, after an overnight frost coupled with bright and still conditions, sport was anticipated to be below par. Some anglers did get off to a flying start only to see bites slowing down after a hectic first hour and a half. The frame was dominated by Forest anglers, with local man Mike Bent leading the way. Mike was pleased to draw the peg from which he won the annual Christmas match and he made no mistake taking several good carp on the pellet feeder fished tight to the far bank which earned him the £100 first prize. Chris Davis looked to be taking the spoils after going into a good early lead but he could not sustain it and had to settle for the runner-up spot. Mike Shields had a near 10lb fish to thank for boosting his hard-earned weight from corner peg 4.
Organiser Steve Ford was delighted to accept £300 for the charity he works tirelessly to support and thanked all the anglers and sponsors for their support.
