Paul Young targets the lightning quick, power packed tarpon of the Florida Keys in this great episode of his popular Hooked On Fishing series.
Paul is in Marathon, the largest of the Florida Keys, where he meets up with local character and boat owner Donnie Braswell to try for hefty tarpon, fishing around the famous Keys Seven Mile Bridge.
The action begins the minute Paul takes hold of the rod as a huge tarpon grabs the mullet bait the second it hits the water. Tarpon in this part of the world can grow to over 250lb and a 100-pounder is not uncommon.
Lots of tackle tips, humour and plenty of hard-fighting fish with spectacular jumps; culminating in Paul and Donnie landing a fine tarpon of around 80lb.
