Stuart Hart from Cradley Heath, has landed a 66llbs catfish on Masters Pool at Shatterford Fishery, using a small chunk of luncheon meat. The fish beats the previous record set only a week ago at 64lbs.
Stuart was on the last couple of hours of a 36 hour stay on Peg 14 and hadn’t had much luck.
As a final last ditch attempt to catch he decided to reduce the size of the meat on the hook from half a tin to a small chunk and fished near the margins, and…. Bingo! He struck Gold!!! Stuart couldn’t believe his luck but, needless to say, he’s delighted with the results with his new record catfish for the fishery.
