The spring weather has got the fish feeding on all lakes, but the Sherwood and the Holmedale are really on top form.
Several pleasure nets – 35lb have been recorded on the Sherwood lake fishing pole and pellet for bream and skimmers – 3lb, plus tench – 2lb, and roach – 1lb on caster, road side pegs have been best, fishing no more than 9m out.
On the Holmedale lake over 48lb of carp needed to win the open matches, pole and pellet and small G/bait feeder and hair-rigged corn have been the methods pegs in the 20s and 40s have been the best, but with the temperature rising the shallow island pegs will start to produce.
The Cavendish lake continues its good form for skimmers and roach – 1.5lb.
A fresh stocking of small carp on the Maunside should bring this pond back up to top form.
