Dave started of on a small groundbait feeder and meat cast to the island in the first 2 hours he had 7 small carp – 3lb, a change to pole fished meat and paste down both margins was an instant success having a further 15 more carp – 9lb, and weighing in 126lb 2 oz his 3^rd weight over the tonne in the last 3 matches. With a massive weight of 93lb 4oz Mansfield’s Carl Brown had to settle for 2nd place fishing pole and pellet at half depth he had 24 carp – 8lb. Third placed Craig confessed to loosing 15 carp added to the 20 he landed he should have won the match, but 87lb 12oz would win most matches.

John took advantage of spare peg 51 and fished the pole down the margin towards it after fishing the pole and pellet out at 11m for skimmers – 2lb for 2 hours; the change brought him a carp of 8lb on his first drop in followed by 6 more with is biggest being 12lb. John Moseley fished the margin with the pole and corn on flyer peg 41 he had a mixed net of skimmers and tench – 3lb and small carp – 2lb and a bonus specimen mirror carp weighing 14lb
