A white over frost with ice on the puddles greeted the anglers this morning but that didn’t bother the fish. In top spot Nigel Shipman alternated between the method feeder and pellet cast to the island and the pole and pellet fished 13m fished on two lines landing carp – 7lb putting 182lb 4oz on the scales. In 2nd and what would have been a close match (if Nigel had stopped in bed) Simon fished the pole and pellet out at 13m and 16m to the island he landed 30 carp – 6lb just edging Lee Hassett into 3rd place he fished the pole and pellet shallow over the bore hole.

A poor turnout on this rainy day but it was bright for Worksop’s Andy Lakey drawn on the best winter peg on the complex peg 31, he fished the pole and banded 6mm pellet up in the water landing 60 carp – 5lb weighing in a level 179lb and his day did get better when his peg was drawn out for the golden peg.

John fished the pole and corn out at 6m to land 16 carp – 9lb. Fred in 2nd spot had just one carp going 10lb and the other 47lb was made up of skimmers – 1lb on the pole and maggot
