The strong wind made presentation difficult; Martin Brown fished the pole and paste on two lines at 6m landing carp – 7lb throughout the match finishing with 117lb 8oz. In second place Nigel fished a pellet feeder cast to the island and the pole and pellet fished at 6m landing 109lb 9oz of carp – 8lb.

 

Sherwood Lake Sunday open 14 fished 

Poor turn out today but great weights again.

1st Ian Boyd, Woodhouse Angling Centre, 120-00

2nd Steve Richards, Woodhouse Angling Centre, 42-08

3rd Mick Burrell, Gateford Angling, 35-08

Hot peg 40 dominated again with Ian Boyd running out a clear winner with 120 lb of carp to 12lb. half his catch was made up of stockie carp taken on pellet waggler before a switch to pole and pellet in the margins accounted for some late lumps.

In 2nd place Steve Richards on peg 38 had an all Ide catch of 42-08 taken on pole and caster. Mick Burrell completed the frame with 35-08 from peg 41.

4^th Kristian Powers Sherwood Forest Fishery peg 14, 81-9-0

John fished the pole out at 13m and two margin lines with pellet, paste and meat, because of the frost it was a slow start for him but he still managed to put 105lb 15oz of carp – 6lb on the scales. It was a different story for Daz he fished the pole and pellet up in the water and caught from the off landing 38 carp – 4lb.

Dave failed to get the skimmers and Ide going in any numbers so he turned his attention to the carp fishing the pole with meat down the margin over ground bait he managed to land 14 of then the biggest being 11lb winning with 102lb 8oz. In second Dave Round fished his usual pole and caster short for 55lb of Ide and Skimmers plus 3 bonus carp – 5lb.
