The South Cerney National Angling Festival is an annual event held exclusively for disabled anglers. This year’s event will be the 26th festival, which is held at South Cerney Angling Club near Cirencester.
Over 100 anglers from all over the country come along to fish this very popular event. The competition itself is fished on three of SCAC’s well-stocked waters, which also offer good vehicle and wheelchair access.
Participants are able to bring along a helper, but if one is not available, there is always a large band of volunteers to lend a hand. We also welcome and encourage junior disabled anglers along to join in the fun.
Entry to the festival will be allocated on a first come first serve basis and costs £5.00. Price includes a breakfast, packed lunch, and an after match meal from a Pig Roast.
For those wishing to make a weekend of it, we have a live band and a bbq on the eve of the festival.
This year’s celebrity, Martin Salter, MP, will kindly be presenting the trophies and some magnificent prizes to all our winners on the day.
There will also be a Grand Raffle to round off the festival.
The festival is not just a friendly competition, but also a great day out for all those that participate.
‘The Fisherman’s Rest’, our licensed clubhouse and bar overlooking Ham Pool, is the perfect setting for all to meet up with old friends and make some new ones too.
We hope you will come and join us on Sunday July 2nd
