Big fish river angler Phil Spinks is enjoying a purple patch on the River Severn, having bagged 32 barbel in five short evening sessions.

Fishing flavoured luncheon meat on one of the Birmingham Anglers Association controlled stretches, the Korum backed angler has been fishing the inside bank, presenting his baits on size 10 hooks and 8lb line under an overhanging tree. His tactics will be revealed in a feature in Angling Times on October 9th.
