A grant of £5,000 has been won by the Angling Trust’s Northants Angling Action Group from Sport England’s Small Grant scheme. 

The money will pay to recruit 15 new angling coaches attached to fishing clubs who will deliver coaching programmes to encourage more people into the sport.
AT’s regional development manager James Roche said: “This Sport England grant is great news for our sport and five clubs in the county have already identified three of their members who will volunteer to train as angling coaches.
“Our Northants Angling Action Group’s aim is to get more people to go fishing and enjoy the fresh air and the countryside in this beautiful county.”
