The eight teams that are to receive invites for this year’s Match Fishing Team Championship Final on Evesham’s River Avon have been confirmed. Midlands teams invited to compete include Kamasan Starlets, Shakespeare Superteam, W B Clarke and Daiwa Gordon League.

The event – which forms the last day of the Evesham Angling Festival, is regarded as one of the most prestigious team fishing events on the calendar. This year, it is set to take place on 31st August. It is contested by 14 teams of five, and carries one of the richest prize pots in UK team fishing.

This will leave six further places for the top three finishers in each of the two Match Fishing Team Championship Qualifiers. These take place on the 28th June and 19th July.
