On the trout front anglers are enjoying great fishing at Raventhorpe with a rod average of five and the best fish being a fine 10lb rainbow to Northampton angler Pat Flynn, on a Blob fished on a sinking line.
There’s also been a near 10lb fish caught at Pitsford by Dave Davies (pictured).
Best methods at Ravensthorpe have been to fish a floating line using buzzers Diawl Bachs, Damsels and dries in cloudy conditions. Intermediate or sinking lines have also been taking fish with Blobs or small lures. If you are boat fishing try the island and the far bank. Bank anglers have been doing well along the Dam, and at Platforms 13 and 14.
At Packington Somers, Nuneaton angler Andrew Mein took the best rainbow, again a 10lb fish caught on a Damsel Nymph on the Great Pool and a floating line.
