A sign that summer is on the way is when ton-up weights start to be recorded on the area’s commercial stillwaters.

At Moorlands Farm Mal Watson registered 108-12-0 in the Wednesday Open on Bank Pool peg 17, and the following day George Reynolds won the open on Silver with 104-4-0. On Saturday the top two topped the 100lb mark, Matt Djukic winning with 120-2-0 with Mal Watson taking 102-6-0 to the scales – both anglers drew on Bank Pool.
