Sunday, 1st  November 2009 sees the launch of Shatterford Lakes’ new specimen trout water and bookings are now being taken. 

Gainsborough Lake (previously well known as a catfish and carp water) will hold Rainbow and Brown trout of 6lb and above.  Shatterford’s existing trout lake (Wyre Dell) will continue to stock the usual 1½lb – 2lb Rainbows and, if they wish, any Gainsborough anglers who may achieve their allocated catches in under 4 hours will be able to spend the remainder of their session on Wyre Dell (subject  to availability), fishing on a Catch & Release basis, although kills may be weighed in and purchased at the going rate.

Regulars fly anglers will welcome the opportunity of catching bigger trout as well as the flexibility of a catch & release option for the smaller stock.
It is also an ideal venue for group sessions (maximum 10 anglers) and corporate events throughout the year.

Gainsborough prices start at £25 for a one fish ‘kill & take’ ticket
(catch & release is not allowed).

Close at 8.00pm Summer Months – Dusk in Winter
