America’s premier fly fishing organisation, the Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF), has honoured the Countryside Alliance’s Charles Jardine (pictured) with its Ambassador Award.
At the awards ceremony, in Livington, Montana, FFF Chairman Gary Grant said that the award was given “in recognition of an individual who has gone way beyond the usual efforts to grow the sport on an international basis, it is one of the highest rewards we can give – and richly deserved”.
Charles Jardine said: “I am both thrilled and humbled at receiving such an award from my peers, especially so far from home. This award will redouble my efforts to grow our beautiful sport even further.
“In the US, the UK and in many other parts of the world fishing has been the driving force in conservation of rivers and other fisheries. Without fishing the world would be a far poorer, and less diverse, place”.
