Matchroom Sport is delighted to announce that Vanarama, the UK’s No.1 commercial vehicle leasing broker, is to be the title sponsor of the annual Fish ‘O’ Mania event. The big-money fishing match – organised and administered by the Angling Trust – is a key fixture in the British summer sporting calendar, now in its 24th year.
Vanarama Fish ‘O’ Mania takes place on Saturday 8th July at Cudmore Fisheries near Newcastle-under-Lyme and will see 25 anglers compete for the £50,000 winner’s prize and the most prestigious title in match fishing. Every cast and every catch will be covered by the Sky Sports cameras and non-stop live coverage throughout.
With qualification running from March to June, there have been 24 separate heats across England, plus one in Germany. Three previous champions have won through – Steve Cooke, Steve Jackson and Jamie Hughes – but all eyes will be on Will Raison, the Team England superstar who triumphed in the penultimate qualifying match.
Fish ‘O’ Mania will be televised live by Sky Sports for a total of five-and-a-half hours. The day also includes the Vanarama Fish ‘O’ Mania Ladies championship, alongside the Vanarama Fish ‘O’ Mania Juniors.
Established in 2004, Vanarama specialises in leasing a variety of commercial vehicles including vans, cars and pick-up trucks. This offering has expanded to include personal leasing products, specialist vehicle insurance and even short-term vehicle leasing opportunities.
Steve Mark, Brand Director for Vanarama, said: “Vanarama are delighted to extend our sports sponsorship portfolio to fishing by sponsoring Fish ‘O’ Mania 2017. We’re committed to bringing the same energy, engagement and enthusiasm to fishing as we do to our other partnerships in football and basketball.”
Matchroom Sport Chairman Barry Hearn said: “We are delighted to be working with such a dynamic company as Vanarama at fishing’s biggest event. Fish ‘O’ Mania has stood the test of time and is now one of those great British summer sporting occasions and a wonderful day out at an outstanding location. I believe that there is a lot of natural synergy between Vanarama and the UK’s anglers and we’re all looking forward to July 8th.”
