The 2006 White Acres Walls Summer Solero Ladies Festival has been won for the second year running by Wendy Locker.
(low) The first day of the festival was a random draw for the four sections but on days two and three the sections would changing seeing the top four fish against each other then the next four and so on. Day one saw Wendy on Acorn peg 13 where she fished the bomb; she won her section and was second on the lake with 43lb 14oz.
The high number on Twin Oaks was the venue for day two Wendy drew peg 30 on the lake and had a steady days catching finishing with 23lb 4oz again winning her section and coming second overall on the lake. Wendy led the pack after two days of the festival as the only lady on two section wins, a third section win would make her the outright winner. The final day saw a change of sections once again as the ladies headed of the low number on Twin Oaks, Wendy fished a brilliant match on the waggler, fishing pellet shallow over to the far side picking up her section win and winning the day with an impressive 67lb 13oz. Wendy showed why she has her place in the White Acres England Ladies team as her talent for fishing was demonstrated over the three days as she fished confidently and really attacked the fishing showing that you needn’t be familiar with a venue to win a match, she finished the festival with maximum 15 points and an impressive weight of 134lb 15oz. Although we were slightly disappointed with the entry number this year it was still another great festival and if you ask any of the girls I’m sure they will agree that they all enjoyed it and will definitely be back next year,
