One hundred and thirty anglers fished the Fish ‘O’ Mania qualifier at Colemans Cottage Fishery, Essex on Saturday 30th May 2015. Good sunny conditions prevailed throughout the match but rain overnight and a cool night kept weights lower than normal.
Winner Wayne Taylor, Hastings Angling Centre drew Peg 38 on Wood lake. This is the same peg that brought the winning weight last year for Gary Bull.
Wayne fished pellet feeder and then pole in the margins with corn, pellets and maggots to land carp up to 12lb and F1s in his 93 lb net.
Runner up Gary Bell (the owner of Lakelands Fishery) drew peg 40 on Wood lake where he landed carp and F1s but was an agonising 1 lb short of the winner, weighing in 92 lbs.
There was a tie for third place former: Champion Neil McKinnon, Preston Innovations and Andrew Morrison from Warley West Midlands both had 89 lb 12 oz. Neil had carp and F1s from peg 8 on Stepfield lake whilst Andrew had his carp net from Peg 30 on Wood Lake.
In fifth place was Jamie McGuire with 88 lbs from Peg 1 on Wood lake.
The Angling Trust would like to thank Gerry Bibbey and all the staff at Colemans Cottage.
