With the competition being split over two days, it was Day One which proved the undoing of the White Acres NFA Ladies Team England, who decided to go for the smaller fish where there competitors went for the larger Barbel. As soon as the day was over it was a case of playing catch up and in the end the mountain was too high for the team to climb.
On Day One it was the hosts
Team Manager Tom Pickering stated,
“I was disappointed that we didn’t do better as we went there with the intentions of coming back with the Gold medal. Unfortunately we chose the wrong tactics and paid the prize with a bad first day of fishing.
Although we did a lot better on day two it was going to be hard to come back and take a medal when the hosts
The Ladies themselves showed as always full commitment and dedication to the cause and that is reflected in three of the top twenty female anglers in the World should make the country proud.”
