The world carp record has reached a new mark with the capture of an 84lb 8oz fish from Luke Moffatt’s The Graviers fishery on the Cote D’Or in France.

The mirror, known as Scarred Fish,beats the old best from Rainbow Lakes by a pound and was banked by Liverpool builder Pete Fitzsimmonds.

Pete (34) took the fish at long range after baiting up with around 2kg of boilies a day. The big fish came on the last night of the trip, taking a Nutrabaits Trigga and Elite Baits Christmas Cracker boilie combination.
