German angler Paul Hanke boated this gigantic hake 30lb 15oz (Merluccius merluccius) while fishing off Smola in Norway. Paul was using a mackerel bait and battled the fish for 15 minutes.

The fish has been submitted to the IGFA as a new All Tackle World record for the species. The current  record for this species is 13.24 kg (29 lb 2 oz).
