Spanish angler David Aldana has landed what’s believed to be a new world record Comizo or Iberian barbel (luciobarbus comizo) in the shape of this magnificent fish that took the scales round to 41lb!

The Herrera del Duque     specialist who has landed carp to over 90lb, is not revealing the venue. Although information is sketchy, the previous claimed mark is thought to be a 34lb 3oz fish caught from the Guadiana River in Spain at Luganas de Ruidera by Ramirez Vazquez in 1993.
