A tinge of extra colour in the water lead to better sport for many at Evesham this week, with some of the venues better stamp fish coming on to the feed. A midweek open match was won by Andy Bruton with a massive 34lb net of skimmers and hybrids – leaving many with high expectations for the weekends matches.
Sensas WB Clarke ace, Trevor Chalk took the win in this Saturdays qualifier, with a three bream net from peg one at the top of the town water. Trevor caught his fish on groundbait feeder, alternating between worm and maggot on the hook.
Another local expert – Rob South took second spot, banking a 9-5-0 net of perch and eels from peg 43. Rob pinned his faith in a flatfloat attack, fishing worm and maggots on the hook. Former World Champion Clive Branson took third place, with a feeder caught barbel from peg 16.
