67 Fished.
With bloodworm and joker banned for this weekends matches, Sundays Wychavon qualifier proved to be tough for a lot of the field, with very few of the small fish that we witnessed over the last two weekends making an appearance.
This didn’t bother the joint winners Paul Jackson (Gloucester) and John Rafferty (Baileys of Warwick) however, as they both caught a bonus fish in their catch. Drawn on peg 8, Paul relied on a long pole and chopped worm approach which resulted in an eel, several small perch and a 5lb tench. John on the other hand fished a maggot feeder on peg 17, and had a 5lb barbel to thank for the majority of his weight. Both anglers weighed in with 6-5-0 to share the spoils. Evesham rod Gary Seadon worked hard on peg 36 to put together a fine net of roach on hempseed for 6-3-0 and third place.
With rain forecast for next week, the river should be in perfect condition for next weekends prestigious finals.
